CVM Produces 16 New Vets

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) celebrated the success of their graduates, who recently earned their license, with a testimonial dinner held at the CVM Social Hall on March 16, 2023. Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA-CAR) President and BSU Alumnus, Dr. Leisley C. Diligen was the guest speaker.

In her opening remarks, CVM Dean, Dr. Loretta C. Romero congratulated the VLE passers and called the event a momentous occasion to celebrate the accomplishment. “Let’s make this a tradition- to honor our board passers,” she said.
The board passers, on the other hand, spoke about their motivations, inspirations, and experiences throughout their journey as students, exam takers, and eventually doctors of VetMed. They acknowledged the continuous guidance and unwavering support of their friends, families, and teachers. Moreover, they shared their review routines, how they managed their time, the goals they set, and how they handled negativities and doubts. “Do not be embarrassed about how many exams you take,” Jorimar C. Oway, one of the passers, emphasized.

The board passers testified about the power of believing in oneself, choosing an environment of positivity, not losing hope, doing tasks wholeheartedly, and consistent self-improvement. They acknowledged and recognized the presence of the Lord in all aspects of their lives.

Dr. Leisley C. Diligen expressed his gratitude for being invited as the guest speaker and proceeded to share helpful advice with the board passers as they start their careers as full-fledged veterinarians. His talk was followed by congratulatory messages from Dr. Ana B. Mendoza; Dr. Criselda S. Battad; BSU College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association (BSUCVMAA) President, Dr. Charlie D. Foronda through Dr. Karen B. Gaerlan; Executive Dean-La Trinidad Campus Dr. Eugene S. Lumasok; and CVM-Basic Sciences Department Chairperson, Dr. Monaliz M. Nagrampa. The event was capped with a ceremonial toast followed by the fellowship dinner. // LAbance (BAComm Intern)
