BSU welcomes SOFAD

Forty six promising boy and girl scouts were assigned at the different offices of Benguet State University (BSU) to conduct the Scout Officials For A Day (SOFAD) program on October 9, 2017.

With the theme, “Developing Leaders Within You”, Hon. Cresencio Pacalso, Governor of the Porvince of Benguet encouraged and challenged the scouts to be responsible leaders during the opening program at the Governor Ben Palispis Hall at the Provincial Capitol, Benguet. “We look at you now as young potential leaders of our country,” expressed Pacalso.

After the presentation of the SOFAD, Pacalso inducted the Scout Officials to formally acknowledge their roles for the day. Pacalso turned over the Key of Responsibility to Kimberly G. Bacyadan of Loo National High School, Scout Governor of the day; while Hon. Florence B. Tingbaoen, Vice Governor turned over of Gavel and Parliamentary Books to Ira Sadatek C. Borja of Benguet State University Secondary Laboratory School (BSU – SLS), as Scout Vice Governor for the day.

Bacyadan, in her Acceptance of Responsibility Speech, pledged to do their responsibilities assigned to them with the assistance of their counterparts.

“Scouts, do not wait for a leader. Look at the mirror, it’s you. It’s us,” she enthused.

Boy Scout of the Philippines Council Chairman Edward S. Moltio, in his closing remarks, directed the scouts to submit a report at the end of the day to evaluate each office, Moltio said that the scouts’ evaluation will be used to improve SOFAD activities in the years to come.//MDPenchog
