The BSU’s Non-Teaching Association (BSUNTA) and Faculty Club (FC) for the first time held a joint general assembly on November 19, 2013 at the BSU Gymnasium.

“For the first time, the teaching group and non-teaching group came together in a General Assembly to deliberate on proposed amendments on some of the provisions of the BSU Employees Collective Negotiation Agreement or CNA,” said Faculty Club President, Dr. Dominador S. Garin, who declared a quorum upon being informed that 217 teaching and 175 non-teaching personnel are already in attendance.

The CNA is a provision of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Executive Order No. 180 dated June 1, 1987 and its amendments dated September 28, 2004 recognizing and guaranteeing the right of public sector workers to self-organization and collective negotiation.

The General Assembly reviewed the current CNA of BSU employees point by point. After it is finalized by all concerned officers of the two groups, the document will be presented at the University’s Administrative Council for endorsement to the Board of Regents for approval and implementation and will be submitted to the Civil Service Commission and Department of Labor and Employment.//
