Mrs. Balauro is the 4th RND from CAR to be awarded at the national level. In 2011, this writer was also awarded as Outstanding ND in Education & Research.
Likewise, the local Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines – Baguio Benguet Chapter (NDAP-BBC) where all other DHN faculty serve as officers over the years, received its 6th Most Outstanding Chapter award at the national level. Its first five (5) awards were received in 2001, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The organization conducts professional education programs, provides technical assistance to groups, agencies and communities while networking with government and non-government organizations in the delivery of nutrition, dietetic and related services. Most of its activities find its roots at and is greatly indebted to the Benguet State University with whom it has worked closely since 1998.
For 2017 and 2018, the NDAP-BBC looks forward to enhancing rather than merely sustaining the usual activities while consciously striving to further develop its members. Before everyone gets committed for the Nutrition Month Celebration in July, three activities have already been slated –participation in the Duting Tan Dukto component of the Strawberry Festival, a symposium on The Art of Emceeing on April 22 and the Pre-Nutrition Month Seminar on June 8, 2017.//Imelda O.
