A total of 46 Scout Officials for a Day (SOFAD) from various schools in Benguet took over the roles of the Benguet State University (BSU) officials on October 14, 2024.

The annual SOFAD event, organized by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Benguet Councils, aims to provide young scouts the chance to experience public service by assuming positions in the Benguet Province government, national line agencies, and BSU.

In his message, BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila encouraged the SOFAD to become resilient and persevere because he believed that one day, they would become public servants and officials of BSU or the province of Benguet.

โ€œYou might be the next leaders of our province, municipality, and other government offices,โ€ he said. He also urged the scouts to engage in entrepreneurship at a young age as he emphasized the significance of business in sustaining themselves financially.

After the opening program, the SOFAD participants proceeded to their assigned roles within BSU, serving as university president, vice-presidents, deans of colleges, and directors.

Zoecray Shane D. Samuel, the scout appointed as University President for the day, shared her reflections and experiences during the closing program at the RDC Hall.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to the SOFAD for their invaluable services to the University.//EBawayan
