A Two-day Workshop on the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS), Operational Plan (OP), and Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) alignment was successfully held on March 12–13, 2026, at the Strawberry Hall, CHET Building.
Offices/Units under the Office of the President, and the Administration and Finance Sector gathered to strengthen understanding of the University’s strategic direction, performance evaluation mechanisms, and alignment of operational plans with institutional goals. Key officials and staff actively participated in discussions, presentations, and collaborative sessions aimed at harmonizing reporting systems and refining performance targets.
On the First day, preliminary activities and presentations on the SPMS framework, Operational Plan, and commitments set the stage for discussions. Resource speakers emphasized clear roles for the Performance Management Team (PMT) and Technical Working Group (TWG), addressed gaps from previous validations, and highlighted ongoing system upgrades.
The day also included an earthquake drill, reinforcing the University’s commitment to safety and disaster preparedness.
Afternoon deliberations focused on sectoral OPCRs and DPCRs, with attention to PRIME-HRM accreditation, green campus initiatives, client satisfaction measurement, queuing systems, competency-based human resource development, and enhanced records and financial management. Presentations from offices led to recommendations for improved reporting standards, stronger internal systems, and compliance with national guidelines and best practices, while linking these initiatives directly to the Operational Plan and strategic objectives.
On the Second day, workshop sessions grouped by division allowed participants to refine and finalize their DPCRs and Operational Plans.
Despite a power interruption, activities continued, culminating in a plenary session that established common rubrics, standardized support functions, and clear validation procedures.
The workshop concluded with a unified commitment to strengthen the SPMS, OP, and OPCR implementation, marking a significant step toward a more cohesive and results-oriented performance management system for the Sector.//EDaguasi
