Benguet State University (BSU) is preparing for its upcoming Charter Anniversary celebration, scheduled for January 10–15, 2026. This annual event commemorates the historic conversion of the Mountain State Agricultural College (MSAC) into Benguet State University on January 12, 1986, through Presidential Decree 2010.

The theme for this year’s celebration, “Shaping minds, transforming communities, and sustaining futures,” reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to excellence in instruction, research, and extension.

The week-long festivities include a diverse range of activities for students, employees, and the community:

  • Kick-off Fun Run (January 10): The “Ta’gual ni Panmaptengan” 2026 BSU Charter Day Fun Run will start early at the Research and Extension Complex, featuring categories ranging from 3K to a full 42K marathon.
  • Main Charter Day Events (January 12): A grand Parade will begin at 7:01 AM from the CIS Area, featuring the BSU Marching Band and various university departments.
    • A Thanksgiving Mass and the formal Charter Day Program will follow at the BSU La Trinidad Gym, where loyalty and service awards will be presented to dedicated employees.
    • The afternoon will see the Soft Launching of Exhibits and Career Coaching sessions for students and external stakeholders.
  • Environmental and Global Initiatives (January 13): Activities include tree planting at designated campus areas and a “Global Launchpad” session focused on international opportunities for students.
  • Dialogue for Unity (January 13–15): The “BSU Ba’diw ya Binnadang” series will facilitate discussions on various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including health, education, and climate action, led by university officials.
  • Employee Teambuilding (January 14): A day dedicated to sports and “Laro ng Lahi” activities at the BSU Oval to foster camaraderie among staff.
