Personnel from the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Central Office visited Benguet State University’s College of Teacher Education (CTE) and the Vocational and Placement Unit (VPU) under the Office of Student Services on February 4, 2026. The delegation was headed by Edgardo S. Aranjuez II, Assistant Director of the Social Development Staff under the Policy and Planning Group.

Following the courtesy call with University President Kenneth A. Laruan, the visitors divided into two groups for the focus group discussions. CTE Dean Divina M. Yango, along with the different department heads and student leaders, met with the first group to share insights on how pre-service teacher education programs are designed and implemented with a special focus on early childhood education.

Simultaneously, Head of the Testing and Materials Development Unit and VPU Ramon C. Fiangaan Jr., and Head of the Student Development Services and Student Discipline Unit Editha A. Grande welcomed the second group to discuss how the University supports students in career guidance and finding employment opportunities.

The visit concluded with a facility tour at the Early Childhood Development Center and the BSU-Elementary Laboratory School. BSU accommodates benchmarking activities and field trips from schools, Local Government Units, National Line Agencies, and Non-Government Organizations with the intent to promote collaboration in various areas that may lead to multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of #SDG17//DPaydowan
