The culminating activity of the School-on-the-Air (SoA) titled “Brewing Gender Equality in Highland Coffee Production Phase 3: Post Harvest Processing, Packaging and Marketing” on December 11, 2023 at the BSU Gymnasium marked the end of the SoA on Highland Coffee Production.
OES Director Anna Cris Langaoan presented the 307 graduates, followed by the confirmation by the University Officer-in-charge, Atty. Andres Arnold Lampacan.
The graduates, coming from different municipalities of Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, and Mt. Province, enjoyed the graduation program as they thanked the Office and Extension team and Subject Matter Specialist on the conduct of the SoA.
Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Prof. Valentino Macanes left a lasting impression as he encouraged the graduates to impact the Philippine Coffee Industry by applying their learning from SoA to their farming.
Sir Von Amado, another SMS, compared the coffee cycle to that of life, from planting to brewing, from birth to going through stages of life. Like life, coffee goes through different stages for a smooth and aromatic flavor.
The cycle for the Highland Coffee Production does not end when its SoA ends its airing but signifies a start for the graduates in producing high-quality arabica coffee.//
