Benguet State University (BSU) will host “The Future in Focus: A Forum on Leadership, Vision, and the Future of Benguet Province” on April 24 and 25, 2025, at the university’s gymnasium. The forum will also be livestreamed at the official Facebook Page of BSU.
The forum aims to promote ethical conduct among candidates in the upcoming elections and bring about a deeper understanding of the electoral process. Key objectives of the forum include empowering informed civic participation, facilitating in-depth examination of candidates’ leadership, and promoting constructive dialogue on community challenges.
Participants will include candidates for Congressman (3), Governor (4), Vice-Governor (4), and Board Members (21), as well as students and the general public. The candidates for Board Members will be attending on April 24, 2025 and the candidates for Governor, Vice Governor and Congressman will be attending on April 25, 2025.
The two-day event will feature candidate presentations and question-and-answer sessions. It will also include a review of governance-related research studies and the signing of a peace covenant.
The College of Public Administration and Governance (CPAG) is organizing the forum in partnership with the Office of the University President, Office of the VP for Academic Affairs, Office of the VP for Research and Extension, College of Social Sciences, College of Information Sciences, College of Human Kinetics, College of Home Economics and Technology, Institute of Social Research and Development, University Public Affairs Office, General Services Office, Security Services Office, Information and Communication Technology Office, International Language Center, University Health Services, the Commission on Elections and the Philippine National Police.
The forum is an impact of the research on Validated Code in the Peaceful Conduct of Election by Binaldo-Velasco of the CPAG.
Organizers have outlined security measures to ensure the safety of candidates and attendees. Campaigning and distribution of campaign materials are prohibited at the event.
