Benguet State University (BSU) joined the celebration of the 2024 United Nations Day. Each college along with the Secondary Laboratory School (SLS) represented countries around the world. The BSU Buguias campus also participated in the event.
The colleges with the corresponding countries they represented are as follows: College of Agriculture (CA) – Spain; College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) – India; College of Engineering (CE) – Australia; College of Forestry (CF) – Cuba; College of Home Economics and Technology (CHET) – Brazil; College of Human Kinetics (CHK) – United State of America (USA); College of Information Sciences (CIS) – South Korea; College of Natural Sciences (CNS) represented Greece; College of Numeracy and Applied Sciences (CNAS) – Switzerland; College of Nursing (CN) – Thailand; College of Public Administration and Governance (CPAG) – Philippines; College of Social Sciences (CSS) – United Arab Emirates (UAE); College of Teacher Education (CTE) – Mexico; College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) – Japan; and the Secondary Laboratory School (SLS) – Egypt.
After the parade, Rex John G. Bawang, the Director of the International Relations Office (IRO), welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude to all. This was followed by the Pasikatan competition, where each college, together with the SLS, showcased their talents.
Next, BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila spoke about obedience, urging students to respect their teachers, parents, and themselves. He encouraged everyone to follow their hearts and minds, and strive for progress and prosperity in life.
The morning activities ended with a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the educational fair. This was followed by a Quiz Bee in the afternoon, featuring representatives from each college. Attendees also had access to various services in the educational fair.
Concluding the event, Doreen I. Alasiw, Deputy Director of IRO, expressed her gratitude to all contributors and participants. She announced that the competitions’ results would be announced on November 4, 2024.//BTayaban
