Benguet State University (BSU) showcases the list of activities in line with the 109th Founding Anniversary with the theme “Nurturing Roots, Growing Futures: Legacy of Stewardship and Innovation”. The celebration is a month-long activity in the month of September 2025.
The line-up consists of various academic and wellness programs set in the different areas in BSU. The second week begins with a Capacity Building Training Workshop on Research Ethics for BSU Advisory Committee Members, led by the Office of Research Services and the Institute of Social Research and Development. On September 10, the Office of Student Services’ Guidance Counseling Unit will lead an event for Suicide Prevention Month. The following day, the University Public Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Philippine Information Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region, will facilitate the “Kapihan sa BSU.” The week’s activities will conclude on September 12 with a Forest Bathing session led by the College of Forestry and the Gender and Development (GAD) Office.
On the third week, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) will be facilitating a Teacher’s Day Celebration on September 15. The following day, September 16, will feature a Bamboo Mapping training by the Center for Geoinformatics and a Student Leader Seminar led by the Office of Student Services (OSS). On September 18, the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) will hold a Groundbreaking ceremony for its new building. The week concludes on September 19 with a full schedule of activities: BSU Wellness Fun Run; seminars on Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Teaching, Enhancing Academic Standards, and Embodied Ecologies; a Biodiversity Trail and Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry Open House; and a Recognized Student Organizations General Assembly.
The fourth week will be kick off with an Open House by the R&E and Northern Philippines Root Crops Research and Training Center on September 22-26 and on September 22, respectively. A booth display will also be set up in front of the BSU Marketing Center throughout the week, from September 22 to 27. On September 23, two key events are scheduled: the Farmer’s Forum, spearheaded by the Agricultural Training Institute-Cordillera Administrative Region (ATI-CAR) and the Cordillera Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Resources Development (CorCAARD); and a seminar-workshop on popularizing research results, conducted by R&E at the Everlasting Hall.
On September 24, numerous activities will be held. Highlights include the annual BSU Employee Day and a Student Street Dance to be held at the BSU compound organized by the Supreme Student Government. The same location will also be the site for the Medical Mission, which will offer blood donations, free consultations, and basic laboratory tests. The university will also conduct a BSU sa Barangay: Techno-Caravan and host Laro ng Lahi at the BSU Gymnasium. The day will conclude with a BSU Innovation Technology Pitching at the R&E compound.
The following day, September 25, the R&E Hall will be the venue for three activities: a seminar on Intellectual Property Masterclass; a community service from campus to community, which focuses on empowering students and faculty in extension services; and a session titled, “Everything you Need to Know about Scopus: Pathways Towards Publishing.”
On September 26, the College of Veterinary Medicine will hold a free animal spay and neuter clinic, while a Foundation Day bike ride will start from Pito Bokod Barangay Hall and end at the Malico, San Nicolas, Pangasinan View Deck.
Finally, on September 27, an alumni homecoming will take place. The morning activities will be held at the R&E Everlasting Hall and BSU Gymnasium, while the afternoon activities will be held at the respective colleges. The R&E office will also launch its Techno-Demo: Lakbay Agham at Teknolohiya sa BSU on the same day. The BSU culminating activity will be held on September 30 at the BSU Gymnasium, featuring an ecumenical service, Praise Everlasting Awards, and a cultural program.
Throughout the month, additional wellness activities will also be held on September 12, 19, and 26, by the College of Human Kinetics and the Center for Sports Recreation and Wellness Development at various campus locations.
