Benguet State University (BSU) underwent its first surveillance audit for ISO 9001:2015 certification on October 6-8, 2025. This covers all the three BSU campuses: La Trinidad, Buguias, and Bokod.

The three-day audit was conducted to ensure the university’s continued adherence to its Quality Management System and commitment to continuous improvement. The surveillance covered a review of the university’s processes, services, and compliance across its main and satellite campuses. The process involved document reviews, interviews with key personnel, and class observations in various colleges.

The audit team was composed of Jogina Mendiola, Rhene Rose Zara, and Hilario Capili led by John Francis Faustorilla, Jr.

In a message, BSU President Kenneth A. Laruan stated that undergoing the ISO audit is crucial for the university to meet its vision. He added that it also certifies the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.

Faustorilla highlighted that the key focus for the team was reviewing the university’s compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, particularly in addressing the non-conformities identified during the previous audit.

During the exit conference, Faustorilla acknowledged that the university has established an effective system for ensuring policy compliance. He presented the team’s findings, which included positive observations, minor non-conformities, and Opportunities for Improvement. He also provided guidelines for addressing the issues and reminded the university of the schedule for the next surveillance visit.

Laruan expressed his gratitude to the auditors for pointing out the deficiencies and thanked all staff involved in the preparation. He also affirmed the University’s commitment to complying with all the recommendations and addressing the identified deficiencies.//BTayaban
