The College of Agriculture (CA) led the Flag Ceremony on May 13, 2025.
Following the ceremony, CA Associate Dean Madeline S. Kingan announced the activities for the week-long celebration of CA’s 41st Anniversary. Kingan encouraged Benguet State University employees to join the activities with the theme, “College of Agriculture: Harnessing Agricultural Researches and Vibrant Extension Services towards Transformation of Societies” (CAHARVESTS).
After Kingan’s announcement, Chief Administrative Officer Matias C. Angiwan Jr. shared a message from the gospel.
“There are times when we may be so tired, there are times when we may be so down and we feel that the Lord left us on our own. And so, we try to give up but that is not so, our Lord never leaves us. He is forever watching, He is continually present and cares about our daily lives,” Angiwan said.
He added that on our happiest times, we tend to forget the presence of the Lord and claim that our success is only achieved through our personal effort. When we are at our lowest points, that is when we remember to seek Christ.
Angiwan highlighted the importance of recognizing the Lord Jesus Christ in all walks of life, be it in happy times and in our lowest times.
In celebration of Mothers’ Day and in recognition of their sacrifices and efforts, CA Social and Events Coordinator Leila Mary A. Ayban facilitated the giving of tokens to all mothers present in the Flag Ceremony.
University President Kenneth A. Laruan congratulated CA on their 41st Anniversary Celebration.
“In our locality, agriculture continues to be the number one economic activity and one of the major sources of livelihood. Agriculture is important because if we do not have farmers, we do not have food on our tables,” he said.
Laruan emphasized the big role CA plays in sustaining agricultural practices. He urged the college to go even further in agricultural research and extension services.
The BSU President reminded BSU constituents that there will be challenges along the way in providing extension services and researches but the Lord is with them every step of the way.//EBawang
