
Representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry – Mountain Province (DTI-MP) regional office accompanied by people from the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector visited Benguet State University (BSU) for a benchmarking activity on August 7, 2025. The group was led by by DTI-MP Provincial Director Mabel F. Banggawan.
The group was welcomed by Food Science Research Center (FSRIC) Director Lesley Dale G. Umayat, who led them to the Office of the President for a courtesy call.
After the courtesy call with University President Kenneth A. Laruan, the group headed to the Food Processing Center, Bakery, Marketing Center, FSRIC, and the Agribased Technology Business Incubator/Innovation Center (ATBI/IC) to observe their best practices.
During the tour of the facilities, Umayat discussed product and business planning as well as management. He further gave in-depth discussions towards the end of the activity.
BSU accommodates benchmarking activities and field trips from schools, Local Government Units, National Line Agencies, and Non-Government Organizations with the intent to promote collaboration in various areas that may lead to multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of #SDG17.//EBawang
