Representatives from the Philippine Institute For Development Studies (PIDS) conducted an orientation on the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P) project at Benguet State University (BSU) on May 14, 2025. The session, held at BSU’s R&E Carnation Hall, was attended by staff from the university’s Research and Extension Publication Office (REPO) and the Institute of Social Research and Development (ISRD).

Ezekiel Nicomedes and Melinda Quiñones of PIDS presented SERP-P as a digital platform designed to facilitate the dissemination and promotion of research findings. The project aims to bridge the gap between research outputs and their intended audiences, which include policymakers, educators, and other researchers. Its mechanism relies on research networking and collaboration, extending its reach globally.

The SERP-P platform functions as an electronic repository. Research articles and innovative development plans (IPPs) are uploaded to this repository, making them accessible to individuals and groups worldwide. This accessibility is intended to foster broader engagement with socioeconomic research.

Before the orientation, the PIDS representatives met with BSU President Kenneth A. Laruan in a courtesy call. This meeting preceded the formal orientation on the SERP-P project. For further information regarding the PIDS-SERP-P project, the public can visit the official website at https://serp-p.pids.gov.ph/.

Benguet State University is one of the participating institutions of the SERP-P. This collaboration aims to contribute to #SDG17 as it targets knowledge sharing and cooperation for access to science, technology and innovation.//BSU-REPO
