The 𝐼𝑛𝑠𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑑𝑒 π‘œπ‘“ π»π‘–π‘”β„Žπ‘™π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ πΉπ‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘šπ‘–π‘›π‘” π‘†π‘¦π‘ π‘‘π‘’π‘šπ‘  π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π΄π‘”π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘“π‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘’π‘ π‘‘π‘Ÿπ‘¦ (𝐼𝐻𝐹𝑆𝐴), Benguet State University together with Minuyungan Hermitage conducted its first activity on the project titled β€œMinuyungan Hermitage Arabica Coffee Farm Rehabilitation” on June 29-30, 2026 at San Pablo Seminary, Crystal Cave Rd., Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.

The 2-day training-seminar covered fundamentals of Arabica coffee production, including Arabica coffee species, field preparation and management, and coffee berry borer management. The participants applied their gained knowledge by rejuvenating existing Arabica coffee trees. Also, making and installing their own lure traps for coffee berry borer management and monitoring in their farm.

By the end of the activity, the team successfully rejuvenated 45 coffee trees and installed eight lure traps.

The project will continue to be monitored to assess the rejuvenated coffee, while the planting of additional Arabica coffee seedlings is scheduled as the project moves forward.
