Faculty members from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), led by College of Agriculture and Food Science Dean Amado A. Angeles, paid a courtesy visit to University President Kenneth A. Laruan.
The delegation included students from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This visit looks back at BSU’s history which was then known as the Mountain State Agricultural College (MSAC), when it hosted the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities (AAACU) under the leadership of then President Bruno M. Santos.
One of AAACU’s sponsored programs include the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP), which is being hosted by UPLB this year, in collaboration with other member institutions from the Philippines.
The program aims to expose undergraduate students in food agriculture to diverse academic environments and deepen their understanding of regional agricultural challenges and innovations.
BSU accommodates benchmarking activities and field trips from schools, Local Government Units, National Line Agencies, and Non-Government Organizations with the intent to promote collaboration in various areas that may lead to multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of #SDG17.//DPaydowan
