Benguet State University (BSU) actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) demonstrating the university’s commitment to disaster preparedness and campus safety.

Pursuant to the pertinent provisions of Republic Act No. 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010), all University officials, employees, students, and other stakeholders present within the campus during the said exercise are required to participate.

At the sound of the emergency siren, participants immediately performed the standard earthquake response procedure “Duck, Cover, and Hold,” for approximately 30 seconds. The exercise simulated the appropriate actions to take during an actual earthquake and reinforced awareness of life-saving safety protocols.

The conduct of the NSED forms part of BSU’s ongoing efforts to ensure the readiness of its community in responding to emergencies and natural hazards. Through activities such as earthquake drills, the university continues to strengthen its commitment to safeguarding lives and building a resilient academic environment.
