Benguet State University’s College of Numeracy and Applied Sciences (CNAS) and the Department of Education – Schools Division Office (SDO) Baguio City formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen cooperation in extension services, research support, and capacity-building activities.

The agreement was signed by BSU President Kenneth A. Laruan and DepEd-Baguio Schools Division Superintendent Soraya T. Faculo. The partnership was witnessed by VP for Research and Extension Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres, VP for Academic Affairs Janet P. Pablo, Chief Implementation Division Chief Juliet C. Sannad, and School Governance and Operations Division Chief Niño M. Tibangay.

Under the MOA, BSU-CNAS committed to conduct webinars, seminar-workshops, training sessions, and research dissemination activities in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, General Science, and research. The college also agreed to provide consultancy and support services, content-based training, and expert assistance in developing instructional materials aligned with its academic programs.

For its part, DepEd-Baguio committed to organize trainings in coordination with BSU-CNAS, allow its personnel to participate in the activities, provide administrative support, and furnish needed certifications and assessments. Both parties also agreed that all activities would be implemented through mutual consent, with schedules and programs jointly planned and evaluated.

The MOA will take effect for four years and may be renewed by mutual agreement, subject to approval by the BSU Board of Regents. It also covers provisions on liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution, underscoring the commitment of both institutions to sustained collaboration in education and research.//EBawang
