To strengthen local agricultural resilience and improve community seed supply, the Horticulture Research and Training Institute (HORTI) successfully conducted a specialized training on the “Development, Technology Demonstration, and Dispersal of Quality Seed Production of Bush and Pole Snap Beans for SIPAT Communities” on April 29, 2026.

The hands-on activity provided local farmers with vital agricultural inputs, including high-quality bush and pole snap bean seeds, alongside post-harvest equipment such as winnowers and specialized storage bottles to ensure proper seed preservation and storage.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in interactive practical exercises, including bean shelling and seed purification techniques. Complementing the practical demonstrations, experts from HORTI delivered comprehensive lectures on standard snap bean production practices and eco-friendly, natural seed treatment methods.

The initiative aims to build sustainable, self-sufficient agricultural practices within the SIPAT communities by equipping farmers with the tools and knowledge required for long-term, high-yield seed production.
