In celebration of the International Men’s Day, the Benguet State University Gender and Development Office (BSU-GAD), BSU Government Employees Association (BSUGEA) and the Center for Sports Recreation and Wellness Development (CSRWD) organized a bike ride on December 6, 2024.

In a short program before setting off at the Administration Building, BSU President Kenneth A. Laruan told the participants to enjoy the ride.

The ride started from the BSU Administration building to Bagong, Sablan where the participants were welcomed by Barangay Kagawad Felimon A. Binay-an and the Jose Gonzales Elementary School (JGES) faculty members. A short program was held at JGES attended by the students and the women’s organization.

In a message, BSUGEA President Donato R. Wanawan Jr. expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. The BSU delegation donated school supplies to JGES. It has become a tradition for BSU that bike rides would always end by handing donations.

Finance Division Chief Andres Arnold W. Lampacan then encouraged the students to study well for them to achieve their dreams.

Next, GAD Director Estrellita M. Daclan presented an overview of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW). She also shared information on gender and development highlighting that everyone can work in different fields regardless of their gender.

Binay-an thanked the BSU delegation for sharing information about gender and development and for inspiring the students.

Another highlight of the program is the recognition of  BSU Elementary Laboratory School (ELS) Principal Agustin Jr. D. David as BSU’s Mr. International Men’s 2024. He was crowned by Armando S. Cabanas of the Records Office.//BTayaban
