The Benguet State University Marketing Center organized the “Tracking and Controlling Stocks and Growing Your Wealth Seminar” at the Gladiola Hall. The activity, which gathered BSU employees and students, aimed to improve the inventory system of the University’s income-generating projects.

Marketing Center Manager Sherilyn B. Balauro, in her opening message, presented an overview of the seminar, welcomed the participants and acknowledged the resource speakers.

This was followed by the discussion on Wealth Management by Ma. Rodiemie H. De Leon, a sales manager and financial literacy advocate. She presented practical tips for managing finances to achieve stability by budgeting early, prioritizing savings and emergency funds, distinguishing needs from wants, managing debt wisely, and spending with long-term goals in mind.

“Don’t just spend money, build your future with it,” she emphasized.

Afterwards, VP for Business Affairs Josel M. Florentin delivered a message encouraging the participants, especially the students, to seize the opportunity to learn from the seminar. He shared success stories emphasizing that honesty and integrity are fundamental values for achieving success.

Florentin likened the participants to an empty can that would be filled with knowledge by the end of the activity, describing them as “infant learners” who are ready to accept new ideas.

Another topic on Basic Inventory Management, specifically for merchandising and manufacturing lines of business, was discussed by Business Development Services Director Dalifer A. Gano. He shared that inventory management is important to serve demand without tying up unnecessary cash. He also emphasized that effective inventory management avoids the financial and operational risks of overstocking, understocking, or poor record-keeping by having the right item, in the right quality, at the right time.

Questions from the participants were accommodated after each discussion.
