

Guests from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) visited Benguet State University’s Bambusetum on May 16, 2025. This was part of MMSU’s research project titled “Collection, Identification, Production, and Conservation of Promising Bamboo Species.”
The visit started with a courtesy call to University President Kenneth A. Laruan, represented by Maridel P. Langbis, Senior Administrative Assistant III. They were joined by the Bamboo Industry Development for Environmental Conservation Project Leader Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres and Study Leader Lynn J. Talkasen.
After the courtesy call, the visitors were toured to the Bamboo Nursery, where they received an introduction to various bamboo species. To gain further insights into the Bambusetum, the visitors also toured the BSU Bambusetum at the Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry.
Additionally, they also visited the Bambusetum of the Watershed and Water Resources Research, Development, and Extension Center of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Ecosystem Research and Development Bureau. BSU accommodates benchmarking activities of individuals from schools, Local Government Units, National Line Agencies, and Non-Government Organizations with the intent to promote collaboration in various areas that may lead to multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of #SDG17.//BTayaban
