The two-day training seminar covered the Coffee species and its agroclimatic requirements, morphological identification of Arabica coffee varieties, coffee propagation methods, and nursery management. The lecture was delivered by the resource persons, ๐๐จ๐ง ๐. ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐จ and ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ฌ-๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ง, who shared their expertise and practical knowledge on Arabica coffee production.
The training was attended by participants from various government agencies, higher education institutions, and other stakeholders engaged in the coffee industry.
As part of the hands-on training, the participants successfully sorted seeds and sowed Arabica coffee seeds, and successfully pricked out at least 300 coffee seedlings, allowing them to apply the concepts discussed.
Through such initiatives, the Benguet State University through Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry remains committed to strengthening the knowledge and technical competencies of coffee practitioners, extension workers, and other stakeholders in support of the sustainable development of Philippine coffee industry.
