An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service is a principal activity in the celebration of BSU milestones because majority of University stakeholders are Christians. The highlight of the 39th Charter Anniversary Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on January 15, 2025 at the University gymnasium was the dedication ceremony for BSU’s top leadership.
This is to seek God’s guidance for the leaders as they do their duties and responsibilities. BSU President Kenneth A. Laruan, VP for Research and Extension Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres, VP for Academic Affairs Janet P. Pablo, VP for Administration and Finance Richard H. Kinnud, and VP for Business Affairs Josel M. Florentin were dedicated and consecrated by the La Trinidad Ecumenical Council of Churches (LTECC) clergy.
Aside from the BSU leaders, prayers for the BSU Board of Regents, administration, teaching and support staff, researchers and extensionists, studentry, community, and the alumni were also offered.
The messenger of the service was Rev. Sam B. Galino, District Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, Philippines Luzon-Highland District. His exposition of the scriptures from Deuteronomy 7:7-12, Ephesians 4:1-16, and Luke 4:16-19 urged the congregation to reflect upon themselves and the effect of their actions to their colleagues.
The 39th Charter Anniversary Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service was officiated by Rev. Narisa B. Balacdao, Sis. Josephine B. Tumbaga, Rev. Esther K. Balawag, Rev. Father Joselito P. Diasen, Rev. Fr. William L. Mani, Ptr. Lemuel V. Simsim, Rev. Father El Cid C. Catnas, Rev. Fr. Richardstone B. Banagui, Rev. Mido C. Bugaing, Rev. Luiz A. Tagaban, and Rev. Dennis P. Alida.
