More than 60 faculty and staff from the Philippines Science High School (PSHS) visited Benguet State University (BSU) on October 29, 2024. The visit aimed to learn about the best practices of the Gender and Development (GAD) office in integrating GAD principles into institutional and teaching practices.

The event was attended by the BSU GAD staff, led by Director Estrellita M. Daclan. In her opening remarks, Daclan shared the office’s achievements.

Mary Ann Lagua, Chairperson of the PSHS GAD, also expressed PSHS gratitude and desire to learn from BSU’s GAD practices.

BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila then shared his passion for entrepreneurship with the visitors.

This was followed by a discussion with Imelda G. Parcasio, a member of the Technical Working Group of GAD, a member of the Philippine Commission on Women, and a faculty member in the College of Teacher Education. Parcasio highlighted key concepts related to sex and gender and the impact of GAD on the teaching with the STEM curriculum.

Following the discussion, the visitors expressed their gratitude for the insights gained during the visit.//BTayaban
