The College of Social Sciences (CSS) successfully concluded its 5th Research Congress, held on May 15, 2026. This year’s congress served as a premier platform for academic discourse, highlighting the intellectual rigor of the students, their advisers, and the panels.
This year’s research congress marks a milestone in the college’s history. Historically, the college congress was attended by Master of Arts in Social Studies candidates. But this year, the first groups of undergraduate graduands from the AB History and BS Psychology programs participated. This evinces the college’s commitment to producing graduates exposed and immersed in ethical, evidence-based, and relevant research.
The presenters were divided into two primary categories, with the Social Sciences (Non-AANR) division hosting 39 researchers and the Education division featuring 8 researchers, bringing the total to 47 presenters. The congress was organized into four parallel sessions.
To ensure the highest standards of academic evaluation, the college invited a distinguished panel of experts from different institutions. The panel of evaluators are from the University of the Philippines-Baguio, Benguet State University, King’s College of the Philippines, Baguio City High School, and Benguet General Hospital.
The top three winners from each category will represent the College of Social Sciences at the upcoming University Research Congress to be held on June 3-4, 2026.//MApnoyan
