“We’d love to come back to BSU, that is why we are here.”

This was expressed by Jessica Sucgang from the Peace Corps Philippines during the courtesy call to the Benguet State University (BSU) Office of the President on April 2, 2025.

Sucgang, with Maizie Anders and Edward Foran, came to BSU to explore the possible renewal of its partnership with the University and the deployment of U.S. Peace Corps volunteers. Their visit aimed to rekindle the collaboration established in the previous years when American volunteers deployed at BSU.

Andres Arnold W. Lampacan, Finance Division Chief and University President’s Officer-in-Charge, along with International Relations Office Deputy Director Doreen Allasiw, welcomed the Peace Corps team.

During their discussion, the team shared updates on the Peace Corps’ programs and the possible placement of volunteers in BSU through its Peace Corps Education program. This program aims to support the professional development of teachers, the enhancement of students’ academic performance, and the involvement of school community participation.

Following the courtesy visit, the Peace Corps team had a meeting with the College of Teacher Education faculty members.
