The CSS-Student Government from the College of Social Sciences and the iSipnayan Society from the College of Numeracy and Applied Statistics successfully conducted a five-day intensive review program for the Civil Service Examination (CSE). Conducted every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the sessions ran from January 24 to February 28, 2026.
Administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), passing the CSE exam grants Career Service Eligibility, which can be used for permanent government positions. The Professional exam evaluates numerical ability, verbal ability, analytical ability, and general information. The Sub-Professional version replaces analytical ability with clerical ability. Hence, resource persons were invited to lead targeted lectures and workshops on these core competencies. This was attended by interested students and alumni, not limited to the students of the host colleges.
This student-initiated effort, backed by both colleges, prepares student-participants, especially non-board program students, for public service careers. For the College of Social Sciences, which was established in 2022 with its inaugural graduates in 2026, this CSE review program launches a promising annual tradition. By cultivating skills central to CSS curricula, such as analytical reasoning, ethics, and public policy, this activity bridges academic training with practical employability, increases the potential of graduate success in public sector hiring, and fulfills the college’s goal of developing merit-ready professionals.
The program culminated in a mock exam on February 28, providing participants a final rehearsal before the March 8, 2026, CSE.//MTApnoyan, CSS College Information Officer
