The Office for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (OQAA), headed by Director Joanna I. Alafag, conducted a monitoring visit to selected colleges to assess the progress of compliance with the mandatory recommendations identified during the previous AACCUP accreditation survey visits.
The monitoring activity focused on reviewing the status of compliance reports prepared by the respective degree programs, validating the actions undertaken to address the identified mandatory recommendations, and providing technical guidance to facilitate the completion of remaining requirements. The OQAA team also conducted follow-up discussions regarding the submission of the required monitoring forms, which were originally scheduled for submission on March 20, 2026, to ensure proper documentation and timely reporting of compliance efforts.
The activity was conducted in coordination with the respective College Deans, college secretaries, Graduate School Coordinator, Department Chairs and selected faculty members, who presented updates and discussed the current status of their programs’ compliance with the AACCUP recommendations. Their active participation provided valuable insights into the progress, challenges encountered, and actions being undertaken to achieve full compliance.
The monitored degree programs included the following:
• College of Nursing (CN) – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• College of Information Sciences (CIS) – Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BS DevCom)
• College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) – Doctor of Philosophy in Filipino Language
• College of Home Economics and Technology (CHET) – Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship
• College of Agriculture (CA) – Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Master of Science in Rural Development, and Doctor of Philosophy in Agronomy
• College of Teacher Education (CTE) – Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling and Doctor of Philosophy in Education
The monitoring visits for the Bachelor of Science in Statistics of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS), Bachelor of Science in Forestry of the College of Forestry (CF), and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) of the College of Teacher Education (CTE) were rescheduled due to conflicts in schedules.
The activity reaffirmed the University’s commitment to ensuring that all mandatory recommendations from accreditation activities are systematically addressed through continuous monitoring, collaborative engagement with academic units, and sustained quality improvement initiatives. Through these efforts, OQAA continues to support colleges in strengthening their programs and sustaining compliance with accreditation standards in preparation for future quality assurance activities.//Bsu Oqaa
