The Cordillera Regional Apiculture Center, Climate Smart Agriculture Center, and the Cordillera Organic Agriculture Research and Development Center led this week’s flag-raising ceremony.
After the ceremony, VP for Business Affairs Josel M. Florentin delivered a message on resiliency. He encouraged BSU constituents to “bloom where you are planted,” emphasizing that resilience means continuing to grow and move forward despite challenges.
Florentin cited basketball player Micheal Jordan as an example of perseverance, noting that success is built through hard work, discipline, and overcoming setbacks. He reminded the community, however, that resilience should not be confused with stubbornness, overconfidence, or excessive ambition, which may prevent individuals from learning and making sound decisions.
He further encouraged employees to become an “MVP,” or Most Valuable Personnel, by bringing resilience into their work and relationships. According to Florentin, resilience can also make the workplace an MVP, “Most Valuable Place,” where people remain hopeful, supportive, and productive amid difficulties.
Florentin concluded by reminding the BSU community to look for opportunities even in negative situations and not allow challenges to discourages them. “May we continue to grow where we are planted” he said.//EBawang
