The Commission on Higher Education, Cordillera Administrative Region, hosted a two-day event as part of its on-going commitment to foster unity among all higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region toward sustainable internationalization programs. The event themed “Cordillera Nexus: Uniting Higher Education Institutions for Internalization Synergy” was held at the University of the Cordilleras on December 5–6, 2023. On the first day of the event, Benguet State University, alongside various HEIs, actively participated in a ceremonial uploading of the Cordillera 101 Heritage. This submission serves as an entry to the World University Rankings for Innovations (WURI) 2024. Following this was the signing of the MOU of 17 HEIs Presidents and representatives with Reskills Malaysia. The commitment signing and partnership with Reskills Malaysia offers students the chance to benefit from unlimited access to a subscription-based online learning platform. The platform features high-quality courses designed to empower students, enabling them to attain global competitiveness within their respective fields. The culmination of this endeavor occurred on the second day of the event, marking the final uploading of the Cordillera 101 Heritage. The collaborative efforts of the different HEIs in the region played an important role in making the Cordillera 101 Heritage submission possible.

The Cordillera 101 Heritage initiative was conceived through collaborative decisions made by stakeholders, reflecting the collective efforts and unity among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Cordillera Region. The journey commenced on November 11- 12, 2021, with participating representatives from various HEIs engaging in a series of meetings and activities. These collaborative endeavors, marked by collegial decisions, led to the fruition of the project. Its successful completion, with the project being part of the WURI entry illustrates the strength of collaboration and shared commitment within the participating Higher Education Institutions.
