BSU library is Iyaman awards recipient

Director of Benguet State University-University Library and Information Services (BSU-ULIS), Lauren P. Kipaan with Gretchen Gaye C. Ablaza, representing President Felipe Salaing Comila, recieved the Iyaman Awards at the New Plaza Hotel in Baguio City on February 23, 2024.

The Iyaman Awards is given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in honor of their 73rd Founding Anniversary. It provides a forum for expressing appreciation to people and institutions whose commitment has improved underprivileged communities around the country. This is to acknowledge that intermediaries and stakeholders have been instrumental in putting social welfare policies into action improving the lives of the most disadvantaged members of society through their steadfast efforts.

Kipaan, in behalf of BSU-ULIS, expressed his gratitude for being chosen as a recipient of the award. He was also recognized for being one of the volunteers who supported the advancement of social welfare and community development.

Back in January 24, 2023, a momentous occasion was marked as the DSWD and BSU-ULIS commenced a novel partnership for a number of community-focused projects that boosted education in the area and supported a range of social welfare intiatives.
