Food and agriculture technologies by SUCs, pitched to investors

Researchers and technology generators from Apayao State College (ASC), Benguet State University (BSU), and Ifugao State University (IFSU), pitched their generated technologies from research outputs before potential investors and partners in the 1st Regional Pitch Day: Promoting Agri Innovations in CAR last May 28, 2024.

The event is part of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in CAR of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).

Specifically, this is under the Project 4 component titled “Regional Knowledge Management Enhancement in the Member Institutions of the Cordillera Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development (CorCAARRD).”

During the promotional pitching, five food technologies and two agri-technologies were presented. These were tomato lemon marmalade, malunggay-squash ice cream, smoked meat, camote-strawberry candy, dehydrated chayote, Coffee Berry Borer (CBB) lure trap, and aquaponics network technology.

A question-and-answer session between the pitchers and panel of potential investors followed.

In her message, the BSU-Office of Extension Services (OES) Director Anna Cris L. Langaoan on behalf of VP for Research and Extension Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres, challenged the innovators to continue making impacts and meaningful changes for the people and the community.
Finally, RAISE-CAR Program Leader Ruth C. Diego closed the event with gratitude and high hopes for the researchers and technology generators’ future collaborations and partnerships for these matured research outputs to be commercialized. //CANapiloy
