IHK celebrates 27th anniversary with activities to defeat negativity

The Institute of Human Kinetics (IHK) celebrated its 27th anniversary with the theme, “Lifting others, Building hope, Defeating negativity” because IHK aims to help those who are feeling down, build hope and defeat negativities during this difficult time. The celebration included various activities for students and employees. One of the many activities held by IHK for the celebration was the kineticos fun ride for a cause. The beneficiary school was the Albis Elementary School at Tublay Benguet. The participants traveled by bike to Albis Elementary School which is 13.5 kilometers away from BSU. Pedaling back will amount to 27 kilometers honoring IHK’s 27th year as an institute. The proceeds from the event will be used to buy bond papers to support the printing of student modules or be used for other needs of the school.

IHK together with the BSU Government Employees Association (BSUGEA) invited cycling enthusiasts from the BSU Faculty club, BSU Non-Teaching Association (BSUNTA), BSU employees, alumni, students, and all interested individuals from the general public. IHK Director Rex John G. Bawang and BSUGEA president Richard H. Kinnud started the activity with a short program in front of the BSU La Trinidad Administration Building. University president Felipe Salaing Comila was present at the program and gave an inspirational message to motivate the participants to continue supporting these kinds of activities further in the future.

The cyclists were also reminded to follow protocols and to avoid sharing personal items during the travel. The kick-off started precisely at IHK celebrates 27th anniversary with activities to defeat negativity 9:35 AM and all cyclists were able to reach the destination at 11:15 AM.
