LGCD Initiatives Benchmarks at BSU

The Local Governance and Community Development Initiatives (LGCDI) Inc. along with eight Sangguniang Bayan Members (SMB) from Samar and Bukidnon came to Benguet State University for some benchmarking initiatives.

The said activity intends to motivate the participants to further understand and promote the significance of agriculture in the country and community development as well as gain confidence in innovation and pursue agricultural developments in their respective localities.

Before their engagement, the delegates paid a courtesy call to President Felipe Salaing Comila who commended their visit, stressing the crucial role of education and the spirit of entrepreneurship in the endeavor for development.

Additionally, Vice-President for Business Affairs and Chief Operations Officer for the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) Dr. Norma Palaci Banania highlighted the significance of the benchmarking activity to both parties as she introduced the possibility for future partnership and trade between the university and the local government of Samar and Bukidnon during the group’s visit to the center.

The delegates also visited the various areas and centers in the university such as the Organic Agriculture Demonstration Farm, Agribased Technology Incubator/Innovation Center (ATBI-IC), Food Service and Innovations Center (FSRIC), Northern Philippines Root Crops Research and Training Center (NPRCRTC), Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry (IHFSA), and Strawberry Farm.
