Newly appointed OIC president share insights on BSU

Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo was designated as the Officer-in-Charge of Benguet State University-Office of the President on June 6, 2020, at that time, he was the Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education-Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR).

Atty. Domingo shared that he is impressed with BSU knowing that it is a Level IV SUC. He has been visiting the University several times since he was a child and also bought various items from the IGPs.

“What took my attention is that BSU has a lot of space compared to other schools. I hope it will be maintained and further developed,” said Atty. Domingo. However, he pointed out that buildings within the University should be designed to fit the local culture citing the practice in Calle Crisologo, Vigan, Ilocos Sur where modern buildings are designed to have a vintage facade to blend into the surrounding age-old buildings.

Amidst the CoVID-19 pandemic, Atty. Domingo looks forward to have BSU faculty members lead the way in adapting to the new normal of higher education. He expressed confidence that many faculty members have enough knowledge to help capacitate others in blended flexible learning and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
