AACCUP evaluates degree programs of BSU

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc (AACCUP) evaluated the four degree programs of BSU during the online Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) on April 22-26, 2024.

The event intended to determine the readiness of the programs for the formal visits by the AACCUP. The programs assessed were the Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Bachelor of Arts in English Language, Bachelor of Arts in Filipino Language, and the Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science.

The AACCUP accreditation team was led by Ricky G. Abaleña III of the West Visayas State University, as the overall coordinator, together with Jermine F. Alinea of the Southern Luzon State University, Lanie B. Tiu of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, and Anthony J. Antonio of the Bulacan State University.

BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila and the accreditors highlighted the importance of submitting degree programs for accreditation which enhances the quality of programs offered to the students.

The weeklong survey visit focused on the evaluation of documents under the areas of Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives; Faculty; Curriculum and Instruction; Support to Students; Research; Extension and Community Involvement; Library; Physical Plant and facilities; Laboratories; and Administration. It also included online ocular visits to the facilities of the University.

The event was concluded with the closing meeting on April 26 where the accreditors presented their findings about the strengths and recommendations to the programs evaluated.

Abaleña commended the BSU local task force and the management for their passion, commitment, and receptiveness that led to the successful accreditation process. He also encouraged the BSU team to continue working towards quality programs and excellent education.

“I encourage you communicate with us even beyond this accreditation. We can collaborate and become each other’s helping hand in the years to come towards Philippine quality education,” he said. 

VP for Academic Affairs Samuel S. Poliden in behalf of the University President, expressed gratitude and commitment that the University will continuously enhance the quality of its degree programs and services towards quality education.//EBawayan
