November 20, 2023| In celebration of National Students' Day, this week’s flag-raising ceremony was led by the Office of Student Services led by OSS Director Angeli T. Austria, and the BSU Supreme Student Government (SSG).
National Students' Day is celebrated on November 17 of every year to honor the vital role of youth in nation-building and to inculcate a love of country and social responsibility among the youth.
Additionally, offices under the OSS gave updates regarding the accomplishments of their respective offices. The announcements included updates on student local and international scholarship, seminars and webinars series, international exchange students, and student organizations updates. Also, BSU students who won in various competitions were recognized during the program.
In his message, Lorenzo Santos Acosta III, the newly elected Chairperson of the BSU Federation of Supreme Student Government, thanked his fellow students for showing their support during the BSU-FSSG election on November 10, 2023. He also hopes that they will continue their support moving forward for the betterment of the students in the university.
Furthermore, BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila encouraged everyone to pray with each other. "Before we woke up today, our Creature gave us sleep to fix the tissues that need to be restructured in our body for a new day," he said.
The flag-raising ceremony was further highlighted by the oath-taking of newly promoted and newly hired employees administered by President Comila.
