BSU-HRDO Launches FIT Habit 2022

Benguet State University (BSU) personnel cut loose in an afternoon of Fitness, Inspiration, and Transformation (FIT) with this year’s launching program of The FIT Habit on March 11, 2022, at the BSU gymnasium.

With the theme “BSU CARES to be FIT,” the monthly wellness activity resonates with the CARING TEAM PRINCIPLE core values of the university. The activity aims to “nurture optimum fitness, inspire convergence amidst diversity, and re-engineer the transformation of inclusivity among the competent BSU workforce.”

The launching program began with Rev. Christopher Alegoyojo, Associate Pastor of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines La Trinidad, administering the spiritual convocation. After the convocation, the College of Human Kinetics (CHK) through Ryan Batinay, a faculty member of CHK, demonstrated some self-defense techniques. Finally, the program ended with a Zumba session with Dr. Lawrence Caranto, a licensed Zumba instructor and a faculty member of the College of Nursing.

The FIT Habit is BSU’s whole-person approach in promoting wellness among its personnel which started in March 2021. This activity is an initiative of the university’s Human Resource Development Office in cooperation with CHK, the Center for Sports, Recreation, and Wellness Development, and the Gender and Development Office. //JBPeralta
