Benguet State University is ranked first among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Northern Luzon in the Webometrics World University Rankings published in July 2023. The University also emerged as 32nd among 366 HEIs in the Philippines, 2411th in Asia, and 5794th worldwide.

The said ranking system is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) which is the largest public research body in Spain.

The rankings are based on three indicators, including visibility, transparency (or openness), and excellence.
