Business Affairs Sector leads flag-raising ceremony

22 January 2024| The University Business Affairs Office (UBAO) spearheaded this week’s flag-raising ceremony in front of the BSU Administration Building.

VP for Business Affairs Norma P. Banania proudly announced the performance of the various Income-Generating Projects (IGPs) of the University saying it exceeded its target income during the previous year. She then expressed encouragement to the BSU community to continue supporting the different IGP centers. She said these centers are among the fund sources to sustain the operations of the University.

“We ask you to support each other in the different sectors… so that the programs planned for the year will be accomplished. With all the programs of the University, let’s all be united for a fruitful outcome,” she expressed.

The different IGP centers of the University are the Marketing Center, Bakery Project, Food Processing Center, Garments, Poultry Project, University Canteen, and Home Management, Executives, and Guestels.

Former Director for Business Affairs Richard H. Kinnud further presented the income generated by each IGP in 2023. He commended the top three grossing projects including the Marketing Center with a P3.5 million income, the Food Processing Center which earned P3.4 million, and the Poultry Project which grossed P3.1 million.

Former Director for Special Projects and Partnership Ricky S. Polilen also thanked the University for the trust and confidence accorded to him as manager of the BSU parking lot and leasable properties.

After Polilen’s speech, University President Felipe Salaing Comila administered the oathtaking of the newly promoted and appointed employees. Afterwards, President Comila gave his usual Monday message to motivate and inspire employees.

The Flag Ceremony ended with a prayer of forgiveness and generosity led by Bernard Balag of the Poultry Project.//EBawayan
