ISRD PRE IN HOUSE REVIEW TRANSPIRES AT BSU

A Pre in House review event of Institute of Research and Development (ISRD) transpired at the Everlasting Hall, Research and Extension Building at Benguet State University last July 13, 2023. The said event is for preparation of the upcoming Annual Agency in House Review (AIHR) to happen on September 2023. According to Dr. Gigy G. Banes, ISRD director, the aim of this activity is to evaluate and monitor ISRD research of the faculty and non-teaching staff of the university before the upcoming AIHR. “Research is a continuous learning process,” she highlighted in her remarks.

The evaluators for the pre in house review are Dr. Maribeth Biano, Training Director from Elatia Indigenous People Training Institute and Tebtebba and Jo Ann Guilao, Research Consultant/IP rights advocate. Also, present are Dr. Johny G. Dati Sr., the Vice-President for Research and Extension, Dr. Gretchen Gaye C. Ablaza, Office of Research Services director (ORS), and Dr. Zenaida Brigida Hamada Pawid, former NCIP Commissioner.

Twenty-one research, programs, and projects were presented in the whole duration of the event. Eight of the twenty research are completed while thirteen are still ongoing. Each research was elaborated by their respective researchers.

“You can never stop doing it [research] until you’re satisfied with it [research],” part Guilao’s statement on her general comment.
The participating colleges and offices in the said event are the Office of the Vice-President for Research and Extension (OVPRE), Tebtebba Foundation, Office of Research Services (ORS), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), Research and Extension Publication Office (REPO), College of Nursing (CN), College of Numeracy and Applied Sciences (CNAS), College of Social Sciences (CSS) and the Institute of Social Research and Extension (ISRD).

Pawid emphasized in her remarks that she is proud of the research presented in the activity. She also reminded everyone that we should stop romanticizing the Indigenous People hence she stated that, “When we are pricked, we will bleed.” She then ended her remarks with the statement, “Please continue your passion. Wherever it is possible to help you.”
