SUCs and LGU Benchmark BSU's Best Practice

Benguet State University welcomed delegates from different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Government Unit (LGU) seeking to enhance their own practices by learning from BSU's successful models. 

MSC Visits BSU: Enhancing Teacher Education Accreditation

On June 13, 2022, Marinduque State College (MSC) representatives led by Assistant Vice-President for Academic Affairs Raoul Jay Magcamit visited BSU in preparation for their BSED Program Level IV Accreditation. During their visit, MSC delegates interacted with College of Teacher Education (CTE) Dean Dr. Divina M. Yango and Office for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Director Dr. Beverly Sa-ao, among others.         The discussions covered best practices on accreditation of teacher education, knowledge sharing, and academic networking. A comprehensive tour of the university library and research and extension sector provided deeper insights into the institutional standards of BSU.

PSU Explores Academic-Related Best Practices

On June 14, 2023, Pangasinan State University (PSU) sent a team of heads and faculty members to BSU to gather academic-related best practices. Topics of discussion included faculty and student exchange programs, internships, linkages, and other academic matters. The team from PSU engaged with counterparts from BSU's College of Arts and Humanities, College of Numeracy and Applied Sciences, and College of Natural Sciences. The exchange aimed to foster collaboration and elevate academic standards in both institutions.

TSU-CFTR Benchmarks BSU's IGP, ATBI/IC, and FSRIC

Tarlac State University - Center for Food Technology and Research (TSU-CFTR) headed by Director Prof. Leah T. Matia visited BSU for a benchmarking activity on June 21, 2023. The focus was on BSU's Income Generating Projects (IGP), Agri-Based Technology Business Incubator/ Innovation Center (ATBI/IC), and Food Science Research and Innovation Center (FSRIC). President Felipe Salaing Comila delivered an inspirational message during the courtesy call. The TSU-CFTR team gained valuable insights from BSU's Vice-President for Business Affairs Norma Palaci Banania and had a fruitful discussion with personnel from ATBI/IC and FSRIC. The visit also included a tour of the facilities, where the group was particularly interested in the equipment used.

DA-CAR Explores IGPs and Food Processing Practices

Delegates from the Department of Agriculture - Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR) Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) engaged in a benchmarking activity at BSU on June 26, 2023. The focus was on food safety and food processing. FSRIC Director Lesley Dale G. Umayat shared the center's services, product lines, and projects, emphasizing cleanliness, maintenance, and continuous innovation. He highlighted the importance of creativity and problem-solving in innovation. The visit also included a tour around FSRIC and the Income Generating Project (IGP) centers.

LSPU-ILA Learns from BSU's IRO

    Laguna State Polytechnic University - International and Locals Affairs San Pablo City Campus, represented by Chester M. Derequito, visited BSU's International Relations Office (IRO) on June 30, 2023. The benchmarking activity aimed to learn about BSU's best practices in acquiring International Academic Linkages and Partners. IRO Deputy Director Maricel A. Guron and IRO Staff Ms. Racquel Aquelle Fatog shared valuable insights with Mr. Derequito, enhancing collaborative growth between the two institutions.

Benguet State University's benchmarking initiatives by SUCs and LGUs have improved institutional standards, increased knowledge exchange, and encouraged academic cooperation. Through these exchanges, BSU has proven its dedication to promoting a culture of continuous improvement, exchanging best practices, and enhancing academic success.
