Two degree programs of BSU Buguias evaluated by AACCUP

The Benguet State University Buguias submitted two undergraduate programs for evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc (AACCUP) during the online Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) on March 11-15, 2024.

The event aims to determine the readiness of the programs for the Level 1 accreditation. The assessed programs were Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVEd).

University President Felipe Salaing Comila and Office for Quality Assurance and Accreditation director, Beverly C. Sa-ao emphasized in their messages the significance of the accreditation to improve the University’s programs towards quality and excellent academic services to students, stakeholders, and the community.

The AACCUP accreditors were Marilyn J. Esteban of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) and Marcela M. Bungag of the Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC). Esteban assessed the BPEd program while Bungag evaluated the BTVEd program.

The five-day survey visit focused on the evaluation of documents under the areas of Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives; Faculty; Curriculum and Instruction; Support to Students; Research; Extension and Community Involvement; Library; Physical Plant and facilities; Laboratories; and Administration. It also included online ocular visits to the facilities of the BSU Buguias.

During the closing meeting on March 15, Esteban thanked the BSU officials, faculty and staff for their cooperation throughout the accreditation.
