UPLB-CA Conducts Educational Visit at BSU

The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) College of Agriculture students and staff embarked on an educational journey at the Benguet State University’s agricultural sites on October 20, 2023.

 

The visiting agency aimed to learn from BSU's best agriculture practices, which help promote agricultural innovation and sustainability and provide a remarkable opportunity for students to explore and engage in agriculture.

The students visited the Horticultural Research and Training Institute’s Tissue Culture Laboratory, Organic Farm, Northern Philippine Root Crops Research and Training Center, and the Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry Coffee Farm.  

Furthermore, the heads of the said offices shared their expertise and emphasized the importance of sustainable farming practices, research, and the resilience of the people who work on the land.

The students were inspired by the innovative approaches to agriculture that they witnessed and gained a profound appreciation for agriculture.

Finally, Dr. Leah E. Endonela, a faculty from the UPLB expressed her gratitude to the university for the warm welcome and productive discussions.
